JFT-Basic (Japan Foundation Test for Basic Japanese) is a Japanese language test designed mainly for people who need to demonstrate basic Japanese communication skills for living and working in Japan.

The test evaluates practical Japanese communication ability through areas such as Vocabulary & Grammar, Reading, Listening, and Communication. It is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and focuses on Japanese that is useful in everyday life.

JFT-Basic is especially important for people planning to work in Japan under the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) system. Passing JFT-Basic can be used as one way to demonstrate the required Japanese language proficiency for SSW, subject to the requirements of the relevant field and immigration rules.

At Anzen Japanese Language Centre, students can prepare for JFT-Basic through structured lessons, vocabulary and grammar practice, listening and reading exercises, mock tests, and interview-focused guidance.
